Goodreads asked B.S. Murthy:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

B.S. Murthy The ideas that shaped all my five novels and a compendium of stage and radio plays came from within but the idea of the sixth came from without thus. I happened to read a news item that a ripe old lone woman labourer, who being pestered by every one of her relatives to bequeath him or her the one and half lakhs she had accumulated over the years, threw all that in a flowing nallah. The thought that how vexed she could have been to destroy her life-long accumulation, triggered the idea for Glaring Shadow. However, the collection of my short stories ( all but one) was a product of the prompts provided by the authors, who set the tone in Write India Contest One of Times of India.
