Hey! I'm currently about 1/4 of the way through FEAR in the GONE series and I just have to say that I really love your writing style. (I want to read your other series as well but they're never in any of the libraries I go to :/ ) I'm curious when you got the inspiration for this series? And if you had a lot of it planned out in your head, or if it was just the idea and not really anything more?

Obviously the libraries in your area are underfunded. In any case, let's go with that.
I don't plan the story, what I do is create a 'series bible' in which I create character sketches, decide on locations, figure out the basic ideas. Then I start typing.

Hey Big fan of your books especially the Gone series with all its amazing character and thrilling story. Which character was your favorite and least favorite to write? Also how did you decide which powers each character would get like Sam and Cain for instance? Did you ever just give a character powers just to advance the story or did you always know which character will have powers?

One thing I really love about your series is how there are no cardboard-cut-out characters. Everyone matters, you care whenever someone dies and they all seem like people that you might have known a couple years ago... As a writer myself, how do you make the reader care and empathize with all of your characters, not just the most important ones?
