Hey Alwyn, could you please tell me who your favourite author was when you were younger and what was your favourite book plus what or who inspired you to start writing?

Alwyn Hamilton I had quite a few favorite authors as a kid! Top of the list would probably be Tamora Pierce, Robin McKinley, Patricia C. Wrede and Mercedes Lackey. Apart from them one of my all time favorite books was ELLA ENCHANTED by Gail Carson Levine.

I think it was just generally loving stories that made me want to write my own!

Hi Alwyn! I adored your books so much, as well as they way you weave your storytelling! This isn’t a question about the book, but more of a writer-to-writer? Research only goes a long way, but when a writer needs to research more delicate topics like spousal abuse, or living with partial paralysis (waist down), how can a writer ensure that she has enough research?
