Demopoulosjac asked April Henry:

We Read your book in My 6th grade I'm in the same grade as Aubrey. I know you write a TON of Ideas but why did you make Girl Stolen being one of your most popular books But why did you make this book and the count all her bones for the 2nd part of the book?

April Henry There was a real local blind girl who was briefly kidnapped after someone stole her mom's car because the keys were in the ignition. I saw her being interviewed on TV and wondered what would have happened if the thief had kept her - and if there was any way that a blind person in that situation could do something clever. I always felt the book was complete but then I started thinking about self-driving cars and how they will change everything for the blind. And that's how Count All Her Bones started.
