All sorts of things inspire me.
As I go walking, or potter about the house, words tend to build up in my brain. They've done that for a long time, but it's only recently that I realised I could write them in a blog or a book and they'd be useful. What can I say? I'm a slow learner.
I also love listening to people's stories. Little things they say, or big events in people's lives, give me the backbone for my novels, and I flesh them out with my own experiences.
My short story 'The Useful Plants' was inspired by a dream. I write my dreams in a notebook that I keep by my bed.
