I just finished Spellsinger (as here in the Czech Republic we have only the first one released so far, but the second book is going to be released in the coming weeks) and I was really amazed by the irony and fun when Ferius Parfax or Reichis are on the scene and talk. Ferius is a composite of a number of remarkable women I was fortunate enough to be around when I was a teenager. She also takes a bit from the cowboy philosophy we sometimes find in westerns. Within the context of a fantasy novel this felt particularly vivid for me.
