This answer contains spoilers… (view spoiler)[This may be a bit late, but after having read Beautiful Redemption, you begin to understand the complication with the love triangle between Trenton, Thomas (TJ), and Cami. Cami kept her relationship with TJ private and only a handful of people (people she worked with) knew the true identity of TJ. Also don't forget that TJ is the only brother who doesn't necessarily look like the other brothers. As we discover in Beautiful Redemption, Thomas looks like his mother whereas the younger four brothers (the twins, Trenton, & Travis) all look like their father. Cami does make this distinction multiple times in the book. Which may also be why many people don't connect that TJ and Trenton are brothers.

The reason why Thomas asked Cami to keep their relationship a secret is revealed in Beautiful Redemption. SPOILER ALERT!!!!: <spoiler> Because their mother's last dying wish was for their father to quit his job as a cop (because it's too dangerous) and she didn't want her sons in that career either because of the danger. So the brothers were told explicitly they weren't allowed to enter any law enforcement careers. That's why Thomas is so secretive because he knows that it would break his father's heart to know Thomas is an FBI Agent and that he deliberately disobey his mother and father's wishes. Don't forget Thomas is the oldest and the one who shoulders a lot of the responsibility, always putting his family's needs and wishes before his own. </spoiler> Therefore, Trenton is unaware that TJ is actually his brother and that's why Cami felt so bad about starting a relationship with Trenton. When it's revealed (after the car crash) who TJ is, Trenton finally realizes Cami's struggles and why she was so secretive about her relationship with TJ (Why she was vague and never told Trenton who her boyfriend/ex-boyfriend was).

There is a lot of affection between the brothers (the ending is proof that the brothers love each other - especially when they hug). Trenton and Travis may be closer but that's because they're closer in age and temperament. I think the one shitty thing that Thomas (TJ) did was send those flowers during Valentine's Day to Trenton and Cami's workplace knowing that Trenton would be there and knowing that Trenton is in love with Cami. It felt like Thomas deliberately sent those flowers to try to break Trenton and Cami up or to interfere with their relationship. But the brothers do love each other, it's there in the ending if you read it thoroughly. It was just unfortunate that the brothers fell in love with the same girl. (hide spoiler)]

Mayra Thomas and T.J. are the same person and Cami just kept the secret from Trent while she was with him because she knew that he would get mad because her ex was his older brother.

Rachelle Berden It is not that Trenton wasn't affectionate towards his brother.
He was mad towards T.J., the boyfriend of Camille though, not Thomas
It was only revealed in the ending that T.J. is Thomas James, his brother
that is why Camille was also scared to let Trenton know about her boyfriend which is his brother too...
And I was actually confuse with how T.J. reacted when Cami was telling him about her and Trenton talking and spending time he was cool and not the reaction I expected from a boyfriend but knowing in the end that they are brothers I kindda get him though...
I mean he knew his brother I guess he did not expect his brother to be too serious with Camille not until he knew he kissed and chase her to the airport.

SashaSay Have you read Walking Disaster? Somewhere there, it says that among the brothers, Trent and Travis are the ones who are closest... Thomas was the eldest and had to be the 'father figure' who was a bit overbearing at times... I guess that's why Trent wasn't as affectionate towards him as he was to Travis?

Also, for most of the book, he didn't know that TJ=Thomas.
