in your book Resistance, jade is half ryrik. is this supposed to mean that he's some how half demon or fallen angel ? because of what I've read so far, the ryriks are powerful and savage beings who aren't human. i really am enjoying your book so far but i thought this was odd and wondered if you let me know what the ryriks are supposed to symbolize in your story. Jaye L. Knight Hi, Melissa! I'm glad you're enjoying the book! Technically, ryriks don't symbolize anything, they are simply one of the races in Ilyon. I do use them, however, to tackle such issues as racism/prejudice/hatred. Early in the series, you see ryriks through the eyes of the general population, but you learn more about them as a race as the series goes on. :)
