I want to point out that this is wrong, and Janet Evanovich addresses this in the series. Sometimes Stephanie makes reference to previous books, especially the most previous and says that it was just a few weeks or months ago. Though I will grant that sometimes she says last year in reference to the happenings of the previous book. The timeline isn't uniform.(less)
