Hello! I wanted to tell you that I love The Bone Witch, and I've already got my hands on a copy of The Heart Forger (both of which are so amazingly beautiful I would die for them)! It was in stores at a B&N Feb. 24 (the earliest of my knowledge), and I was wondering if it was your intent that the book be released almost a month earlier than initially planned? (IM SO EXCITED TO START READING THF I CANT WAIT)

Hello Noelle, and thank you! I'm glad you like the series! <3
Unfortunately, buying my books before its official release date... actually hurts me in the long run, as these won't count toward first week sales and will affect publishing decisions on any future series I make. :(
I'm not sure why they're choosing to release this earlier, and it might not sound like it's a big thing, but this can wind up being a make or break deal when it comes to gauging book popularity in the industry.
If you see more copies of The Heart Forger at B&N stores BEFORE March 20, please do let them know that they shouldn't be doing this!

I am a young author and i'm working on finishing a couple books. I won't be done writing them for awhile though. I just was wondering how you became an author and got your books out there. I'm also wondering if I can be a writer through Good Reads the same as you. I just wanted to see if you could give me any good tips. Do you have like any advice or answers? I would say more but Good Reads doesn't let me.

Love love loved the girl from the well as well as the suffering. The attention to Japanese culture as well as Japanese horror (which I am a sucker for) made me so so happy. As an aspiring writer, I'm wondering if you have any advice on how you can create action, suspense, or romance without making it seem too cliché? I'm sorry for all of the questions but as a Filipina, I babble. Salamat!

Do you ever play horror video games? The Suffering kept making me think of the mid 2000s games like early Silent Hill and Fatal Frame 2, and I was wondering if you had played and were inspired by any of them. I'd also like to say that your books are darker and creepier than many of the horror novels I've read that are aimed at adults, and are some of the best novels I've ever read.
