Hello Paula, I just finished The Paris Wife.WOW. I love historical fiction and yours is outstanding, true characters and events... We visited the Key West house and there is a penny in the cement at the pool area, they said Ernest said his wife took every last penny.. now I wonder if that is true, and was it Pauline ? will you write a book on Pauline ? Hadley had my heart. Love the way you write!

Paula McLain Hello, Renata, and thanks for writing! I've taken this same tour and heard the story of Ernest's last penny. That's the lore, and though I can't confirm it's true, it DOES sound like him, and yes, that would have been Pauline. The "Key West Wife." ;-)

Hi Paula- I read The Paris Wife and then followed it by immediately reading A Movable Feast by E. Hemingway. When I read Circling the Sun, I immediately followed it with West into the Night by Beryl Markham. I find it very interesting to read your work this way and thought I'd let you know! I have just started Love and Ruin. Any suggestions on the Hemingway book to follow it with? Thank you!
