James Ritchie
James Ritchie asked Craig Schaefer:

Why can I not buy any of your books as ebooks on the Nook?

Craig Schaefer Unfortunately, it's a lot of publishing-biz "inside baseball." For instance, one of my series is published by 47North Publishing, and Barnes and Noble (who owns the Nook) refuses to do business with them because 47North is a subsidiary of Amazon.

To try to make up for that, I make sure that my books are released without any DRM copy protection (which opens me up to getting pirated -- and I do get pirated, a lot -- but making sure my readers can read on the platform of their choice is important to me). That way, folks can use a free program like Calibre to convert my ebook files to the Nook's .epub format (or .pdf, or any other file format they like).
