Hey Sherwood, I was wondering if you have any story ideas such as characters, items, or places that you've thrown out or given up on that I can use for one of my stories? The story that I'm thinking of is about an island where all story bits end up if they are thrown out or given up on. I've asked other authors so I can get a variety and some truth to the story. It's fine if you don't want to share any. Thanks. Hannah

What a fun idea! Unfortunately, I wish my brain worked that way. I tend to get the complete "movie" in my head, then I write it, so I don't really get stories given up on. I do end up cutting scenes sometimes, but they wouldn't be much use as they tend to be conversations that I think repeat plot or emotional beats. Would that idea be helpful, conversations that fell between scenes and never got printed?
Good luck!

Hi! I was interested in the culture portrayed in the opening of Inda, with noble houses trading treaty-brides who grew up together with their betrothed. But the books quickly depart from this pattern, & never really return to it (because events warp it, so we only see damaged versions of it). Have you any stories that occur entirely within this culture? I'd like to see how it works when it's working. :)

No question, just a big, big thank you for writing such fabulous books. A friend of mine gave me Crown Duel last month, and it was so wonderful I'm now working my way through all the rest of your books. Currently reading and loving A Stranger to Command. Next up, the Wren books. Thank you for the great storytelling! Goodreads just flagged this for not having a question mark. So here you go?
