Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Daniel Gray-Barnett The idea came from some characters I was working on for an illustration competition. I wanted them to be an odd-couple in a sense, but kindred spirits and having adventures. For Albert, one of the most unkind things I could think of doing to him was to not let him celebrate his birthday. However, Grandma Z was going to be the enthusiastic nudge to Albert's less-than-ideal situation. Together, I think their worlds change thanks to their imaginations.
