how can one become a good poet?

James Morcan Although I love reading poetry, I'm not a poet myself, so not qualified to answer this. At a guess, I would say it's probably best to start by reading different styles of poetry - from classic poets like William Blake and Yeats, to the American Beat poets like Ginsberg and also modern poets (my favourite is the British indie poet Harry Whitewolf). Maybe you can also try writing different styles like rhyming poetry and non-rhyming poetry.
Other than that, I have no idea sorry!
