How do you get inspired to write?

Steve Currier I need to have an interest in a subject in order to write extensively about it. I love hockey, and sports in general. I especially love stories about the obscure corners of pro sports, so these topics are always the ones that I gravitate towards. I can't see myself writing about something that doesn't make me feel passionate, including my beloved Montreal Canadiens. Too much has already been written about them that I don't believe I could add anything to their history. The obscure, however, is always a great story to be told, and it's fun to learn and discover new things along the way.
