Do ALL of Karin Slaughter's books feature as deeply disturbing material as The Good Daughter? I really enjoyed reading the book generally (as well as Blindsighted), but my goodness, do they have to go THERE? I want to read more of her books, but I don't know if I can handle the depths to which she takes her stories. I'm still shuddering weeks after reading The Good Daughter.

Longer answer...She actually gets most of her material from real cases that have been adjudicated. She reads the case files and discusses the uncomfortable truths about the world. I met her at a book signing and she talked about how she wants people to be uncomfortable because all these things unfortunately happen.
