I've read your book, The Giver a few months ago, and I still couldn't understand how you come up with such a world like Jonas's. Were you inspired by any books, movies or personal experiences? To be honest, I love writing. I would love to know how you start a simple story just for pleasure. I really want to try it out when I have time. =)

Lois Lowry Create a character and place him in a situation where things are slightly askew and need to be righted. Give him the power to do that, but don't let it be easy.
