How do you keep the characters straight in your head when you are doing more than one book at a time?

Brenda Hiatt Robbie, not only am I a slow writer (especially by today's indie standards), but I almost never work on more than one book at a time. Once I'm really into a book, I just don't have ROOM in my head for another whole cast of characters and their stories. That said, on the few occasions I HAVE worked on more than one at once, they've been in two very different genres, which keeps things from getting tangled. Thanks for asking! :)
