While I was reading a description from a favorite book-adapted film of mine, I read that the author of the original novel helped to write the screenplay for the movie. The movie followed the basic plot of the book. I feel that "The Giver" film respected the book, too. Which brings me to my question: Did you have a hand in writing the screenplay for the film adaptation of "The Giver"?

No, the screenwriting credits go to Robert Weide and Michael Mitnick, both of them very competent screenwriters. But I was given the screenplay to read before filming began, and asked to make comments and suggestions, which I did.
