Sarah Altmann
Sarah Altmann asked Barbara Delinsky:

Hello, Loved your book "For my Daughters''. Your description of the Maine seacost was breathtaking! I read this book a couple years ago and I am racking my brain about what the name of the wild flower is that you described that grows on the Maine seacoast. I think it was some sort of rose? I can't find my copy of the book so can't look it up. Can you help to answer my question? Sarah

Barbara Delinsky Sarah, wow. It's been a while since I wrote FOR MY DAUGHTERS, and without going back to search through the book, I'm guessing that the wild flower you mention would be Rosa Rugosa, or beach rose. I may have included lupines in the book as well, but these would grow more on a hillside or meadow. Hope this helps! And thanks SO much for remembering this book of mine. It's one of my favorites.
