<spoiler>How were Oregenes actually made? How did they get their power to manipulate the earth? In this book, it was explained how Guardians came into existence so I expected we will get to know more anpbout history of orogenes too but it wasn't explained. Were they present at the time of Syl Anagist or they were made after its destruction? Please do explain.

She looked like them in all ways but one (her advanced sessapinae) and therefore escaped their control. All the other 'tuners' either died or became stone eaters. Father Earth still hunted orogenes and sought to control them via what became Guardians, but even they had variable levels of compliance to this plan based on their individual wills as evidenced in Shaffa's character.(less)
