asked:
Which version? I see about half a dozen different versions of this book on Amazon. Does anyone know if they're all the same? Different translations? Is any version better?

The story is quite popular due to the history of the relevant literature. Thus, I'd say that the book has been published by multiple companies (as it happens with a lot of classics) so I would say - just go with the publisher you're used to :) or pick one that you like. The book has been written by an Irish author so I wouldn't say that there are different translations (if you're looking in English) but perhaps different updated version where they've changed some of the historic language for the purpose of making the book easier to read. I can't really say if there's one version better than the others as I own only one copy, but I wouldn't expect any drastic changes between the different texts. Just make sure that you've got the book by the right author ;) hope this helps.
