Mary asked Janet Lee Carey:

I've been reading your Wilde Island books as stand-alone novels up until recently when I noticed the connections between them. Which brings me to my question: what is the timeline between the three books? I'd love to know when which king/queen in which books are the ancestors of which characters in others.

Janet Lee Carey Hi Mary,

I'm glad you're enjoying the Wilde Island books. The timeline goes like this:
Book 1 DRAGONS KEEP- check out the prologue that shows the Pendragon lineage back to Arthur's banished sister, Evaine back in 520 AD. Evaine is the first queen of Wilde Island. Book one begins many generations later with princess Rosalind in 1145. The book ends with her married to Kye. She is the Wilde Island queen, and she's expecting her first child.
Book 2 DRAGONSWOOD begins in AD 1192 when Rosalind's son, Kadmi is king. He dies early in the book, his eldest son, Arden will inherit the throne. His second son goes into hiding and meets the main character, Tess. Book 2 ends with Tess and Bion living on Dragon's Keep island. their son, Jackrun is two years old.
Book 3 IN THE TIME OF DRAGON MOON, focuses on the indigenous healer Uma, Tess and Bion's son, Jackrun, and Jackrun's cousin, Prince Desmond-- the son of King Arden and Queen Adela (a former witch hunter who chased Tess down in book 2). I hope this helps you make the historical connections. Best in books
