SPOILER WARNING: This is more of a spoiler for Endangered (two books prior), but it relates to Dallas Cates and is reemphasized early in this book. We are told that Dallas was only charged on the wanton destruction of game animals thing. Why was he not charged with something in connection with Liv's kidnapping? We know he knew she was being held from in a scene in that book. Did Liv not testify?

Liv left after giving her statement & left to get Nate. Dallas never made it to trial where she would have been called to testify.
