Attended an incredible talk by Dr. Dewey (NYU) on the brain and addiction. Have you considered any addiction based novels, the PET scans and stim results were incredible? You were the first author I thought of that would do this subject justice.

Lisa Genova Yes, I have and will likely write one. Before I was a novelist, I was a neuroscientist, and all of my research was on the molecular neurobiology of drug addiction. Here are some of the papers I published--the kind of writing I did before writing fiction!

Have you thought of writing a book about Deaf characters? Although deafness isn't a disease, how it is treated by the medical community (something that needs a cure: cochlear implants) vs the Deaf community (they have a special culture and are not broken) is always interesting. Destigmatizing signing, showing that ASL is its own language, & how manual languages are accessible to the Deaf would be a great service.
