We are shown that Daisy can’t even have the strength of character to choose her lover over her husband when push comes to shove, or admit she has killed another person (I do believe she killed Myrtle). Would she then have shown the strength of character to overcome nearly everything she has been taught as a rich Kentucky debutant to be with this person if he was black or passing? I don’t think so.(less)
