Goodreads asked Lloyd Johnson:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Lloyd Johnson Two things: You have to love yourself and your talent a whole lot because not everyone will get your voice. That's not entirely a bad thing. Everything is not meant for everyone. Secondly, if you are self-publishing, and you intend to put your work out into the ether for someone to purchase, then you owe it to yourself and your readers to put the best product out there that you can. From editing, formatting to cover design. You can't put substandard crap out there and expect people to rush to buy it, and not feel jipped when they realize what they've bought. It saves time and money getting it right the FIRST time. Believe me, I know!
