Know why your writing and who your writing to. You need to have a vision and without guiding principles your apt to hit a rut and burn out. Having both of the former helps you know what to do when times are low and in turn make the framework of discipline needed for those times that it is hard to continue putting out and writing when you really don't want to and before you know it you rekindle your first love and get caught back up in the story and with enjoying life again. This is at least what happens when your born to be a writer or a storyteller.
