I have read The Breakdown & I've loved the book - especially the atmosphere of tension you've created throughout in an archetypal British suburb. My question is, how do you manage to capture such intricate details about the setting in your writing & how important is it for plot/character development? Have you lived in such a town? Or visited on holiday? Or do you just cook them up from your imagination? Thanks! :)

Hi Vishal,
I'm so glad you enjoyed The Breakdown. All of the places I write about come from my imagination. That said, my imagination is probably influenced by some of the towns and villages that I've visited in the UK over the years, which helps to give them authenticity.
