is this book stand alone? or i need to read the past 3 skink series?

Joshua I would say it's better if you read/know Skink, but they re-introduce. You could easily read it stand-alone.

Linda This is a stand alone book. It was the first one of Carl Hiaasen's books I ever read and it got me interested in reading more of his.
