I found it unpleasant but also realistic
1) Clare is an extremely sexual person in nature
2) she’s going through complex grief/trauma and this would be a common action for someone in that position -impulsivity, depersonalisation
3) none of the characters in this book are “good”. This isn’t a fairy tale and they all end up doing horrible things and hurting people. Life isn’t easy and they don’t have the luxury of “being moral” at all time under such circumstances. (less)
