Did you every get discouraged while writing the book and almost give up? 2. Do the actors/actresses in the movie match what you had imagined when writing the book? 3. How many years did it take you to complete the series?

The main message I got from The Giver was how precious free agency, or the right to choose, is in all the little details of our everyday lives. Was this one of your purposes in writing this wonderful book, or did you have some other message in mind for your readers to receive?
