Call Me Cordelia

I am really enjoying the few episodes I can catch on PBS of this series - does the show do the books justice?

Erin Kasper They changed the characters slightly from the books. Although, I think the show does a better job of making the characters pop better than the books...Hmm...that might be the first time I thought the show one-upped the books. :)
Margaret Workman None of the characters except maybe James Lacey and Roy Silver are remotely like the characters in the book. They sort of modernized the characters. But the series is still pretty good. Just not very true to the books.
Cheryl Coffin I think I prefer the books to the one episode I watched. Having read nearly the entire series prior to viewing, the characters were already established firmly in my mind and I had a difficult time accepting the actors chosen for the parts.
Ingrid Self I watched an episode and a half before turning to the books. Much better - the characters are much more believable and Agatha is not a tall slim glamorous figure, she is a real person. The actors were lovely in the bit I saw but not the real deal
Morgan Silver The main thing I disliked about the series was that Agatha seemingly had no reason to investigate the murders, whereas in the books she does. They have an equal dose of humour and cosy feel. I recommend both. If you love the series, you'll love the books.
