General agreement seems to be that there never was a Wolfgang Faust (or rather, this Wolfgang Faust) to begin with. He may be a literary creation by the alleged translator. The books contain a huge number of implausible descriptions, and a number of hard anachronisms (e.g. an IS-2 tank in 1943). Also, I could find no trace of the alleged widely controversial German "Panzerdämmerung" (even misspelled as "Panzerdammerung") in the literature. So these are just fictional accounts - and if the "author" did not make up the rest of the fictional biography, there is none.
