And what does it matter if one character in the book seems to have such a leaning. The story does not focus on that character. It is a YA book, so I don't see why people are complaining about the romantic aspects of the book being somewhat obvious. The two young characters are thrown into a precarious series of situations. Naturally strong friendships and emotions might result. That being said, the ROMANCE is also a very minor story line. Read this book for the truly rich way the author has built a magical society that is unusual and unfamiliar and made it come alive.(less)
