It's not really similar, but as I enjoyed this book I went on to read Andre Aciman's recent novel, Enigma Variations. It explores similar themes of love, longing, passion and the fluidity of sexuality. It isn't as good as CMBYN, but I would recommend it if you enjoy Aciman's writing.

If you want LGBT novels:
.The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue by MacKenzi Lee-Two boys in the 17th century go on a Grand Tour around Europe and they have some pretty cool adventures whilst they slowly admit their feelings towards each other (It's a YA novel so it's basically PG-13)
.Carry On by Rainbow Rowell-Two wizards who are supposed to be enemies but end up falling in love and work together to save the world (It's a young adult book so it's basically PG-13)
If you don't care about the LGBT aspects of this book and just like books with a great plot and the occasional sex scene:
.Outlander by Diana Gabaldon -A girl in the 19th century travels back to 17th century Scotland and has many adventures while also falling in love with a Scottish outlaw (It's pretty mature content and there is a TV show based on the book so you can check that out too if you want)

If it is the semi-obsessive young love angle of CMBYN that attracts you, you might like The Virgins by Pamela Erens. Just like CMBYN it has a young narrator who imagines the thoughts in other people's heads. Unlike CMBYN it's not a wholesome romance. It's not M/M, it's M/F and decidedly unwholesome. Twisted. Want to take a shower twisted. Don't mean to discourage you though because it's a great read.

Give John Boyne's amazing All The Heart's Furies a try. One of the best books I've read.
