What made you want to write "The Girl Who Was Supposed To Die"? What\who inspires you to write these amazing books?

April Henry Most of my books are inspired by real cases, but that one actually got its start with a song lyric about someone who needs to put an injured animal down. For some reason when I was running and listening to that song, I thought what if someone said that about a person - "Take her out back and finish her off." Plus I had always been fascinated by fugue state amnesia and bioweapons. So even though the premise was fictional, I researched all the stuff that went inside it.
