I have tried reading this book twice but could not get past 30-40 pages. I even read Iliad and Odyssey before starting this book as the book is supposed to draw some parallel with Odyssey. Is it readable?

My advice is to forget the guides and just let it wash over you.

I admit, I saw a stage play in Dublin (at the historic Abbey Theatre!) that convinced me to finally read it. The playwright's goal, according to the program notes, was to make Ulysses accessible. (less)
