How do you get inspired to write?

Rachel Radner I guess it all sort of depends. Sometimes I'm watching something really good on TV--a relationship, a situation, maybe something very emotional that the camera angles in on in just the right way. Then, BAM! An idea for a novel is born. Or sometimes I'm at the gym, listening to a song that makes me feel a certain way and inspires something completely different. OR sometimes I'm thinking about something that I've personally gone through, and I can imagine another character going through the same things. There have even been times when I've been inspired by what other people have gone through. I would say that "relationships" in general inspire me whether that be romantic or platonic.
