When I originally conceived Offside, I thought it would span all three sports seasons in the 1967-1968 school year. As it turned out, however, the novel was complete when the football season ended.
Even so, there was plenty of room for the story to continue. Between the wonderful reaction to Offside and my love for the characters, I just had to write Offensive Foul.
