Robin I just finished it and would call it a literary novel with heavy psychological overtones, and while it is very compelling, it doesn't have the twists …moreI just finished it and would call it a literary novel with heavy psychological overtones, and while it is very compelling, it doesn't have the twists and pacing that a book such as GONE GIRL or GIRL ON THE TRAIN have. If you read (and liked) THE TALENTED MR RIPLEY (the book publishers are mentioned as a similar read), then you'll recognize the plot and it has the same pacing. It's also very similar to MAESTRA by Hilton and WE COULD BE BEAUTIFUL by Huntley. It is a very compelling look at obsession and the setting of Tangier is very well done. Does this help?(less)
