Hey! Love the books, one question though. Why are you so mean to your main character?

Lev Grossman Most people ask me why I wasn't meaner to him.

But I think Quentin was just one of those people who had a lot of trouble growing up, emotionally. He needed to be kicked around some, to give him some character. It was good for him.
