"Number the Stars" is one one of my favorite novels. I know it has had different variations of the cover photo for years and I was just wondering if there is a significance to the girl in the picture or if she is someone you have known. Thank you.

She was a Swedish chld, ten tears old, whose parents had hired me to photograph her. Her face seemed just right for the book so I got the family's permisison to use the photo.
