Do you prefer Naoko or Midori? I am naturally drawn towards Naoko, but from online I feel a lot of people like Midori, and I want to know why.

Well, i think that it doesn’t matter, i thnk that Watanabe describes Midori in a sense more realistic, for this reason, a lot of people loves Midori, but, in my opinion.

Midori is a character that complemented the personality of Watanabe, both were comfortable with each other, not only their relationship of great friends helped them to consolidate those feelings, but possibly they were destined to be together. On the other hand, Naoko, despite being the love of Watanabe, I honestly feel that she aggravated her being of Toru, I felt that instead of making him happy and although the feelings have been reciprocated, it was a relationship where both would suffer, especially Toru, Naoko is a girl with serious problems and extreme depression, someone who really needs help more than anything from herself to be cured, while Midori despite his cruel past with the illnesses of their relatives, is someone who has managed to do many things for herself, I do not know if I explained myself, but I think they are one of the reasons why Midori has won the love of others and not Naoko, in my case, I think that in both parts Watanabe could have been happy and not at the same time, the ending given by Murakami to Naoko was the best for the main character, regardless of who he would end up being a couple with. therefore, for the rudeness and sincerity of Midori's way of being, I choose her. Naoko reminds me of a very dark part of my past, however, Midori won my heart because we are both very similar right now.
