First, just do it. Sitting and saying I want to write will not do. Unless you put quill to paper, you'll never know whether you can do it or not. Second, get some feedback from someone whose opinion you value and, importantly, who you know won't just say it's great. Finally, publish it yourself--if it's a book--using CreateSpace or Kindle.
