M.L. Buchman:
Where do you get the backgrounds for your mil/rom/suspense books--from personal experience, research (family, friends, etc.), or just making it up out of whole cloth (and what you've read and seen on tv and movies)? By the way, I just had a taste of your work in a story about a Christmas Eve hunt for a drug cartel honcho and I loved it! Is this one you want a review for? And where?

Hi Carolynn, I always welcome reviews anywhere that you're willing to leave them. The backgrounds come from massive amounts of research (about 1 hour for every 2-3 hours of writing and I've been doing that for a decade now). I try to rip pieces of it from the headlines, do a lot of research to make it feel real, then focus on the characters to make me care (in the hopes that if I care, so will you. (grin!) ML
