How do you get inspired to write?

Anna Schmidt Everything inspires me--song lyrics, stuff I see on my walks, snippets of conversations overheard, news items. My novel A SISTER'S FORGIVENESS came from a small newspaper article about two teens heading out for their first day of their senior year--one teen was picking up her friend, lost control of the car and the friend was killed. My heart broke for the two families who I assumed were friends. Then I began to think, "what if the mothers were sisters and the girls were not only best friends but cousins?' A lot of my ideas coming from asking "What if...?"
