What was your inspiration and drive behind writing "The Night She Disappeared?"

April Henry The Night She Disappeared was inspired by a real 30 year old case. Just like in the book, someone called in a pizza delivery order to a real road but not a real address. And just like in the book, the caller wanted to know if a specific girl was making deliveries. It stuck in my head, because I wondered what it would be like to the girl he asked for first.
