Where did you get the idea for Enjoy the Poodle Skirt? Have you ever seen/been to an old-fashioned diner like the one in the story?

I'm not quite sure where the idea first originated, Kellyn, but it's likely I wanted something happy to write about. I sometimes search through my mental library of ideas and put several things together to see how they can become a story. I've seen a few vintage-y diners before, but not one exactly like this one. ;)
